4 Tips To Build Concrete Patio

Patios are great additions to any home. The base of rigid patio consists of mortared brick, flagstone, tile or concrete pad.  Concrete patios are long lasting and with some landscaping beautify your garden, entrance and other landscaping. Concrete acts as a solid base beneath these materials. It prevents from cracking. Concrete patio basically begins with 4 inches of compacted stone.

Follow These Tips While Pouring Concrete on Patio:-

Tip #1: Prepare your Base

Begin with preparing your base at first. Prepare the grade for your concrete slab by evenly grading the area and place a well-drained clean or well compacted road base at least 2 inches deep. Once the base is prepared, place concrete forms. An uneven or improper compacted base creates issues down the road, including feeble points that cause concrete to crack. In order to avoid future issues, prepare your base properly.

Tip #2: Choose the Right Mix Design

To decide the mix to be used for concrete, determine the intended application first. For patio, it is suggested to use 6.5 bag engineered mix air entrained concrete. Air entrained concrete mix designs have tiny voids that provide space for water to expand and prevents concrete from cracking.

Tip #3: Add Fiber or Wood

Addition of synthetic fiber or wood to concrete before or during mixing prevents some common concrete issues like shrinkage cracks. Fiber adds internal support and lower down the permeability of the concrete. But, avoid using fiber to decrease slab thickness.

Tip #4: Proper Concrete Care
