Usually, the beginning of pumping operation starts with the release of fluid from a ready mix truck into the attached hopper. An agitator is attached with the hopper which keeps the fluid fresh and maintains its smooth flow into cylinders. Concrete pumping piston is based on twin cylinder reciprocating engine principle. One cylinder draws liquid from hopper and another forward it into the line. The attached piston works to maintain the air pressure to keep fluid flow constant between line pipes. A hydraulic pump is installed to run the piston properly. A synchronized valve is needed to pass concrete from the both cylinders to the discharge pipeline. Gate Valve:
It consists of two distinct valves. The first one works to control flow from hopper and 2nd one works to control the flow in the line.
Rock Valve:
It is a single element which allows cylinder to stay connected with line pipe for constant flow. When the 2nd cylinder releases the concrete, the rock valve swings to the cylinder to intake it. When the air piston reaches the end of stroke, the existing rock valve allows cylinder to connect with pumping line.
Swing Tube:
It is a single bent tube which swings one cylinder to another on the axis of line pump. The swing tube is always ready to intake cylinders to the open hoppers during the return stroke process.
Ball Valve:
- Hydraulic: Hydraulic-powered piston pumps include a ball valve with two valves for each and every cylinder. When a cylinder passes the fluid to the hopper the ball locates the other cylinder and allows concrete to pass. Meanwhile the other ball allows suction to flow concrete through the line.
- Mechanical: In this Ball Valve piston pumps are designed mechanically rather than hydraulically. In this power piston the ball valve devices cylinders in to two parts, Primary Cylinder and Secondary Cylinder. The primary one regulates the flow between pipeline and secondary maintain the output from hopper.
